We also say a sad goodbye to Calli, who moved to So Cal region and Moraya who is gone to college in Berkeley. Good luck with your new endeavors. Congratulations to our many members who rated up this summer, Arden is a D2, Ella and Annie are now C2HM, Kathryn has added a C3 in Dressage, she is already a C3 Traditional and an H. Amanda who is now an HA, she passed her B in Dressage this summer, she was already an H. Congratulations girls for your hard work in achieving these goals. Congratulations also goes out to our Championship participants: Kathryn competed at Championships on the 1st Level Dressage team and took 2nd place over all and 2nd in HM. Ella and Aria competed on the Regional Quiz teams. Congratulations, girls for your excellent achievements!

Many of our members took advantage of going to Camp here at Shepherd Ranch and to Regional Camp in Moorpark.  Camp is always so much fun and often the highlight of the summer.

Our club has a very full calendar this Fall. We have six more club meetings, Oct 1, Oct 29, Nov 12 , Nov 28, Dec 3 and 17. Our meeting on Oct 29 is a Halloween Games and Fun on horseback! I will post more information when the date is closer. We have been invited to a Polo lesson in Santa Barbara on the weekend of Oct 8. Contact Lynn Fischer for more information.

Rallies – We have 2 teams going to the D Combined Rally on Sept 24. There is a Show Jumping Rally on Oct 15 which is quite nearby in Ventura. There seems to be a lot of interest in this rally. I hope we can send a team or two to this rally as well. Finally, the Dressage Rally which was canceled has been rescheduled for Nov 12 at Hansen Dam. This is also the weekend and location of our Regional Planning Meeting. There may even be a C level clinic at the same location that weekend. More information about these rallies, contact our Rally Coordinator, Lynn Fischer.

Ratings- Jill has planned a club rating on Nov 6, it is a Sunday. If you wish to rate up, please contact Jill.

Horse Trials. There are several Horse Trials this Fall. There is one at Twin Rivers Sept 23-25. Woodside is Oct 8, Ram Tap is Oct 22, Galway is Nov 5 and Ram Tap Benefit for Pony Club is Nov 19. Thank you to all volunteers who helped make both our Horse Trials at Shepherd Ranch a big success! We could not do it without you, thank you, again!

Annual Membership Renewals are due now. As club secretary, I will be accepting renewals for the 2012 year up to our Annual Sponsor meeting on Oct 27. All of you who are interested in renewing have probably either already completed your renewal or have it to be filled out. Please remember to sign it in blue ink and make any corrections in red ink. Any questions, please to contact me, Saragail.

Annual Meeting of Sponsors will be held on Oct 27 at 7:30 pm. All parents are encouraged to attend. This is our only club meeting of the year, so this is your chance to discuss any changes you would like to see in the club. We also sign up volunteers for next year, so please attend, or you may wind up beingvolunteered for a job. If you are not a sponsor of the club, the cost is $1.00 and you need to sign up 30 days prior to the meeting date which is Sept 26 for our Oct 27 meeting. Why be a sponsor because you can vote for club officers and changes to club policy. I will be sending out an Agenda for the meeting on Sept 26. I will also be sending out a list of volunteer positions for the club, please consider signing up, this is a all volunteer club and we all need to help, if our children are going to be able to keep participating in all these great club activities!

June Activities

This is a very busy month; school is out for summer! We have two meetings as well as Horse Trials and our week long club camp! Also, in the very beginning of July we are hosting a National Level Ratings which this Region has not done in several years. The Horse Trial is an opportunity to complete the 20 hour volunteer commitment to the club. For more information on volunteering at the Horse Trials, check the website where a list of volunteer positions is posted. It is a good time to sign up now.

Our Hunter Pace was canceled due to the EHV virus, we hope to reschedule.

We have more new members! Welcome to Megan, who moved here from So. Cal. Region, and Natalie who has transferred from Tecolote.

Ella has entered the Fox Hunting writing contest! Good Luck, Ella.
